Safety Manager

Acton Mobile is now hiring a Safety Manager to provide safety leadership, develop safety policies and procedures, ensure branch compliance with company safety standards, improve safety performance, and ensure company safety policies and procedures are aligned with governmental regulations.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and support in creating a compliant and continuously improving injury-free workplace utilizing technical expertise of regulations and requirements, clear written and verbal communications and building strong relationships of trust and respect according to Acton Mobile’s core values.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Develop and deploy company-wide written safety program and strategy
  • Respond with urgency to safety-related incidents to ensure adequate treatment and care for employees, timely and thorough investigation to determine root cause and accountability for appropriate countermeasures
  • Facilitate a safety committee that engages a cross-functional team of employees to accelerate improvement of safety performance and provide opportunity for involvement
  • Organize, manage and communicate accurate safety data
  • Create relevant charts and reports to analyze gaps in performance
  • Communicate safety performance results to company leaders and employees with guidance on actions to improve
  • Create and deploy safety training to ensure compliance with training requirements and employee knowledge of relevant topics
  • Coordinate safety inspections and initiatives that drive improved results for a safe workplace
  • Conduct branch site inspections and work with local leadership to develop appropriate action plan for improvement with follow-up plan
  • Collaborate with various company resources to provide support for improvement efforts
  • Provide support for customer pre-qualification requirements and other customer inquiries related to safety protocols
  • Assist with creation and tracking of branch and overall company safety budget
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by manager
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as EHS or engineering
  • Experience in construction industry and/or coordination of safety program with positive results
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Project/team management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in applied problem solving tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and desire to learn and grow
 
Travel Requirement
  • Frequent travel (over-the-road and air) is required - about 40%
